Safety

Providing top-notch safety practices for tree service employees is essential. Employees should be familiar with hazards in the field, and daily inspections should be conducted. It is also crucial for them to wear high visibility clothing. Employees should be aware of road speed and shoulder width to ensure they are not in harm’s way.

Tree service workers must be equipped with proper safety gear. They should wear a hard hat that protects their heads from falling limbs, gloves to protect their hands from cuts, and boots for firm footing on the ground. It is essential to have an effective safety plan and follow the safety guidelines of the company.

In addition to safety gear, employees should check the condition of the tree before they start cutting it. They should also tie their safety equipment to strong branches before cutting it. They should never carry their safety tools by hand. They must also make sure to maintain three points of contact, moving one foot at a time.

Cost

Before hiring a tree service company, it is important to ask about their insurance coverage. You don’t want to be responsible for any injuries or damages caused by a worker on your property. A tree service company should have workers compensation insurance that covers up to $1 million in damages. This insurance is expensive, but it can help protect your property.

There are several factors that affect the cost of a tree service. Trees that are difficult to access will increase your bill by about 25 to 50 percent. This is because large limbs will need to be lowered using ropes to avoid damaging your structures or plantings. This will result in extra time and labor. Using a platform lift or bucket truck will not be appropriate for these trees. This will require additional labor, which will be added to your bill.

Tree service costs vary from company to company. A smaller tree may only cost $100 to $150. However, if you have a tree 30 feet or more in height, the cost will increase significantly.

Qualifications

Before applying for a job with a tree service company, make sure you meet the qualifications listed below. A tree service technician needs to know how to properly care for landscape plants and understand their unique needs. They must also be able to identify potential problems and maintain an adequate inventory of plant health care products. Generally, a tree service technician should have at least two years of experience in the field before they are interviewed for a position. The salary for this position will be determined during the interview process.

ISA Certified Arborist Certification – ISA Certified Arborists have at least seven years of experience and have completed a comprehensive exam developed by the ISA. They have advanced knowledge of tree care and can perform jobs for both homeowners and utility companies. They also need to have completed an education program to earn the credential.

LTCO and LTE examinations – Both tests are designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of tree physiology and disease and the proper application of pesticides and chemical treatments. The LTE examination is three hours long and requires a minimum score of 70. The LTCO examination, which covers tree physiology and plantation procedures, takes two and a half hours to complete.

Marketing

If you want to increase your tree service business’s visibility and profit, you’ve got to put some effort into marketing your services. However, there is no one-size-fits-all marketing plan. Rather than spending your time on ineffective advertising tactics, focus on building a solid marketing strategy.

One effective strategy is to use social media. While this won’t generate tons of sales right away, it can help increase visibility and traffic. Aside from that, social media can help strengthen SEO and expand your network. Creating informative posts on Facebook and other social media channels can help build potential leads and generate revenue.

Another method of marketing a tree service business is to use customer referral programs. These programs reward satisfied customers by offering them a small percentage of their bill. Customers will be more likely to recommend you if their friends and family have used your services. Moreover, your referral program can provide your tree care business with a steady stream of customers. In addition, you can create a program where existing customers can earn incentives for referring new customers.
